Does your kitchen need an update? You can maximize your dollar by having your existing cabinetry refinished instead of spending the money on all new. When choosing to refinish wood products (ie. decks, cabinets, or even a table), the desired finish should be considered. A stain can be used to change the appearance of a piece while bringing out the grain. Semi-transparent stains provide color while still showcasing the grain in the wood or choose a solid-color stain to hide the grain and reveal only texture. With so many options, the possibilities are endless and TWD can create a new look to compliment your style.

Exterior paint is an important aspect in keeping your home protected. With the Arizona sun beating down on your home, the exterior should be inspected often for signs of damage. Peeling and cracking paint can be dangerous to the life of your home. If not regularly maintained, the damaged paint will cause the stucco to deteriorate and crumble, thus increasing the cost of repairs later. The deteriorated stucco allows harmful elements and even moisture into your home that could potentially damage the framing or even foundation and provide an open door for pest infestations. Keeping your home protected is an important investment that also increases the overall value of your home. Chalking is another symptom to watch for, especially in warmer climates. Chalk powder forms on the paint surface due to weathering, ultraviolet rays and the use of lower grade or thinner paint products. All paints will chalk to some degree as it is a method of wear that is desired, but to what degree and how quickly are the issues to be concerned about. Heavy chalking will cause fading and provide a more problematic surface for future repainting. Typically, alkyd paints will chalk at a more rapid rate than an acrylic coating. Using a quality paint will maintain a good sound surface, retain good moisture levels to minimize cracking, and will stand up to the weather for many years. Trim around doors and windows should be painted on average, every couple of years. These areas will show the most wear, while providing the easiest opportunity for a new look and feel for your home with even the slightest color change. If you are getting ready to sell or buy a home, a fresh coat of paint should be on your checklist.
